In 1984, Daifuku established the first Taiwanese subsidiary Daifuku Pioneer Co., Ltd. in Taipei. Daifuku Pioneer had provided sales, engineering, manufacturing, installation and services of AMHS and Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems for distribution centers and manufacturers.

As the Taiwanese economy places growing emphasis on the information technology industry, in 2005 Taiwan Daifuku launched to provide a cleanroom transport AMHS for flat panel display and semiconductor production lines.

On January 1, 2008, two Taiwan-based subsidiaries, Taiwan Daifuku and Daifuku Pioneer, completed a merger in which Taiwan Daifuku is the surviving corporation. Taiwan Daifuku took over the existing business operations of Daifuku Pioneer as well.
